About this work

Niche, flanked by female herms, above which garlands of fruits. Under the niche hangs a cartouche with the text HOUDT DEN COCK IN EEREN. Below that three men are trapped in the scrollwork. The men on the outside hold a cornucopia up. The middle man sits wide-legged: under his legs a mask. Belongs to a series consisting of a title page, a text page and 14 sheets with grotesques with scrollwork, satyrs, garlands, trophies, animals and fantasy creatures.
