About this work
Truth, a radiant sun above her head, offers a lamb on an altar. In her hands she holds a sacrificial bowl and a knife. Next to her the patriarch Abraham, who holds the chained Vanity, Idolatry and a man with a feather headdress. At his feet kneels Temperance, with a horse bit on her arm. She reaches for his winged foot. On the left in the background three shepherds with their flock of sheep.
