Death in the form of a skeleton sits on a sarcophagus. In the foreground are vanitas symbols such as a scythe, hourglass, and skulls, but also worldly symbols like coins, a crown, and a necklace. In the background, a view through to a landscape with a funeral procession, pyramids, and a building.
