About this work
Portrait of Maria Louise, Princess of Orange-Nassau, dressed in an ermine mantle, with a veil on her head. She was the wife of Prince Johan Willem Friso of Orange-Nassau and became a widow after barely two years of marriage. A woman with a heart pierced by arrows shows the oval portrait. The relief on the basement depicts two playing putti with rose garlands.
