About this work

Monument to an unknown Amsterdam apothecary in the form of a stone bearing two portraits, one of Theophrastus of Eresus. In the center of the stone, an apothecary symbol with a chalice and a snake. In front of the stone, a mortar, an alembic, and a tobacco plant. Atop the monument, the coat of arms of Amsterdam.
