About this work
The crowned Mary looks at the sleeping Christ Child, her hands folded before her breast. She is accompanied by Joseph, who holds a songbook, and an angel holding a bunch of grapes. Various flowers are scattered on the Child's blanket. In the margin a two-line Bible quote from Song of Solomon 1 in Latin.
