About this work
Via a ladder the soul climbs up to the crucified Christ to place its own heart in Christ's crucifixion wound. Under the cross kneels the prophet Jeremiah. He points to a dove flying to its nest among the rocks. In the margin a two-line Bible quote from Jeremiah 48 in Latin.
