About this work
A horse, standing in a ruined building, under a barrel vault. Behind the animal walks a man, dressed as a soldier, armed with a halberd, a monstrous creature or headgear on his head and winged shoes on his feet. In the background, a pot with fire burning. On the stone in the foreground, the monogram of Albrecht Dürer and at the top the date of his print.
