About this work
From the body of the sleeping Jesse rises a tree with on the branches the twelve kings of Judah, the ancestors of Christ. At the very top sits Mary with the Christ child. The kings are: David, Solomon, Rehoboam, Abijah, Asa, Jehoshaphat, Joram, Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, Hezekiah and Manasseh.
