About this work
The god Janus opens the gate of the year with a key. Janus drives away rain and storm, in the form of two men spitting and pouring water on the earth, and an old man making wind with a large cloth. The way is now clear for Spring with her retinue of putti with flowers. Below the scene, a Latin verse written by Robert van Audenaerd himself.
