About this work
The shepherds worship the child in the stable. They kneel before Mary, Joseph, and the child; one of them has brought a sacrificial lamb. In a corner of the stable, angels make music on stringed instruments. Joseph sits leaning back against a pillar; Mary is about to breastfeed the child.
