About this work

Grand festivities organized in Antwerp in 1634 on the occasion of the arrival of Cardinal-Infante Ferdinand of Austria. On stage to the right stands the Cardinal-Infante with Minerva and the personification of Peace. Behind them stand Justice, and personifications of Trade and Wealth. To the left, a group of actors performs a play in honor of Ferdinand. In the center, high-ranking church officials and citizens. The stage is richly decorated; atop the cornice proudly displays the cardinal's coat of arms of Ferdinand of Austria.
