Triumphal Arch with Scenes from the Lives of Saint John of Capistrano and Paschal Baylon

In the center, a triumphal arch dedicated to Saint John of Capistrano and Saint Paschal Baylon, who were canonized by Pope Alexander VIII in 1690. In the center of the arch, Saint John of Capistrano blessing the wine and the host, just before the Consecration. Angels descend from heaven while behind the priest, the peoples of Europe kneel. Along the left side of this scene, Saint Paschal Baylon with a crucifix. Along the right side, Saint Paschal Baylon with the Christ Child. Atop the triumphal arch, Saint John of Capistrano as a soldier-priest, defeating the Ottoman army. He stands on various weapons and the corpses of defeated Ottoman soldiers. To the left and right of the arch, allegorical representations of the kingdoms of Hungary and Spain, with their respective kings. Surrounding the arch are 16 medallions with scenes from the lives of the saints and their canonization process, including John of Capistrano's fight against the Turks in Belgrade.
