About this work
Paul heals a young enslaved woman who could predict the future. Behind him stands possibly one of her owners, who was angry because he could no longer earn money from her gift. In the background, Paul and Silas are being scourged by order of the city magistrates, who had been tipped off by the owners of the slave girl. At the bottom of the margin, a two-line inscription in Latin.
