About this work
A prior and a young monk sit at a set table before a fireplace. In front of the prior stands a young nun, who is being reprimanded by him. Behind her back the nun strokes the face of the young monk. The fireplace is decorated with a medallion depicting Mary with the Christ Child. Behind the group hangs a representation of Moses striking water from the rock for the Israelites. On the right back, nuns are spinning.
