About this work
A ship sinks in a storm at sea. Sea monsters surround the drowning men. Two other ships have suffered serious damage and are adrift. In the foreground, some drowning men try to reach the shore. The representation depicts autumn. The print has a Latin inscription and is part of a series on the four seasons.
