About this work

Christ sits on a bench. In his left hand he holds a piece of bread. His right hand rests on his chest. According to the New Testament Christ broke the bread during the Last Supper with the words: 'Take, eat, this is my body' (Matthew 26:26). Next to him stands a small table with a wine chalice.
