About this work
Battle between Rome and Carthage, led by Scipio and Hannibal. The Carthaginian army rides on elephants, the Romans are on foot and on horseback but can ultimately defeat Carthage. Due to a misunderstanding this print shows the battle at night, the battle actually took place during the day.
