About this work
The deathbed of Frederick Henry. The prince is comforted in his final moments by the preacher J. Goethals. The prince's immediate family members and various officials have gathered around the bed. In the image they are indicated by numbers. In the legend 1-15 below the image are the corresponding names. This copy has on the back a poem by Cats over two columns. The print was used according to this text as an introduction to the poem 'The Coffin for the Living' (1647).
