Festive inauguration of the first Dutch railway line between Amsterdam and Haarlem of the Hollandsche IJzeren Spoorweg-Maatschappij on 19 September 1839. The locomotive marked 'De Snelheid' with six passenger carriages in front of the station d'Eenhonderd Roe, in the middle the Haarlemmer trekvaart, in the foreground to the left spectators.
