Large allegorical representation of the victory of the Republic under the leadership of William III in 1674. Through two stories from Greek mythology, the victory of the United Netherlands under the leadership of Prince William over his enemies, enshrined in the Peace of Westminster on 19 February 1674, is glorified. Mercury and Jupiter point the Dutch Maiden with the liberty cap to an open book of Ovid's Metamorphoses in which scenes from the stories of Apollo and Daphne and Neptune and Coronis can be seen. Below the Dutch Lion chasing away the French rooster and an English dog. At the bottom, on the left and right, the fables and the political interpretation are explained. In this copy of the print, sheets with the monogram WH of William III are pasted over the two verses (at the bottom left and right, in which the fables and the political interpretation are explained).
