About this work

Portrait of Frederick Henry standing in an interior with a marshal's baton in his right hand. To the right a view through to the outside. Below the portrait name and titles in Latin. Engraved after the painting by Adriaan Pietersz van de Venne. See also the portraits by Delff of William I and Maurice from the same series (RP-P-OB-77.367 and RP-P-OB-50.089). On the back of the print a handwritten document is attached, dated 25 June 1627, in which Jacob Goossens Sondergelt is ordered to take his company to the Crèvecoeur fort. The letter bears the signature of Frederick Henry and the wax seal of the Prince of Orange.
