About this work
Title page with an allegorical representation of the restoration of Stadtholder Willem V in 1787. On a throne sits the Dutch Maiden (Noble Courage), with crown and scepter, at her feet the Dutch Lion. Before her appears the Stadtholder accompanied by Prudentia (Prudence) and Minerva (Wisdom). Above their heads, a cherub with a palm branch and crown, and the hand of God with a flaming sword. To the right, the threefold violence (Patriot) with a musket, with a monster at his feet. Double-folded leaf with an explanation of the title page in verse form on the last page.
