Prince Willem III bids farewell to his wife before his journey to England, 11 November 1688. Stadtholder Willem III (right) and his wife Mary Stuart stand centrally against a sober black background, with two gentlemen to the right of the Prince and four ladies to the left of the Princess. Willem holds his hat in his left hand and raises his right hand; Mary holds her white handkerchief in her right hand.
