About this work
Satirical print on the ruff, ca. 1600. A man and a woman, standing opposite each other, both with wide pleated collars around their necks. Behind each of them stands a devil pointing at them with a laugh. The devils hold a large ruff in which a skull is placed in the middle. With text mocking the wearers of the 'large lobes'. Two lines above and two lines below in French and Dutch.
