About this work

The ruins in the Hoogstraat seen from the ramparts, near the Bospoort and the tower of the Grote Markt in Bergen op Zoom, after the plundering and shelling by the French in 1747. Part of the series of ten views of the ruins after the siege and destruction of Bergen op Zoom by the French in June-September 1747.
