About this work

Landscape with a couple dressed according to the fashion of the Netherlands. The woman holds a handkerchief in her right hand. In the background a camp with soldiers and view of a church tower. In the margin, in two columns, an inscription in Latin stating that the Dutch are as good in fighting as in love. Eighth print from a series of ten with costumes from different countries.
