About this work
Jan Kruyze, steward of Salland, and Willem van Deutichem, bailiff of Deventer, are punished by being locked alternately in the Wassenaarskooi, the cage of Jan van Wassenaar, in Hattem, 1520. Scene takes place in the open air, in the background the cage is hoisted up the outside of the church tower.
