About this work

Siege and bombardment of Steenwijk by the States army under Prince Maurice and surrender of the Spanish garrison, 4 July 1592. To the right of the center the raised earthen rampart with a wooden tower, a so-called cat, from which the city is bombarded. At two places an explosion occurs under the city wall. Top left the Spanish troops leave the city. With inscription of 12 lines in German and 3 lines in French. Unnumbered.
