About this work

A duke on a throne. On the canopy above the throne stand various symbols. The duke is flanked by a statue of Justice (Justitia) and of Prudence (Prudentia). With his right hand he hands over a paper (without title) to a female personification of a city. She is crowned with a mural crown. A lion with the coat of arms of the dukes of Brabant lies at her feet.
