Overview of the siege of the city of Haarlem and the surrounding area in bird's-eye perspective. In the foreground on the left, Spanish officers at a tent of the Spanish troops. In the midst of them stands Don Frederik with a letter in his hand in which the Haarlem population is asked to surrender to the Spaniards. On the right, the Huis te Kleef, the residence of Don Frederik. Behind the camps, troops march towards Haarlem. At the top, a cloth with the coat of arms of Haarlem and the legend 1-11 in Dutch.
