About this work
The Battle of the Zuiderzee, 11 October 1573. Naval battle in which the fleet of the Watergeuzen under the leadership of Cornelis Dirkszoon van Monnickendam defeats the Spanish fleet of Bossu. In the center, the ships fire at each other, in the foreground a skiff and a sinking ship. Enkhuizen in the distance to the right.
