About this work

Mutilation of the body of Francesco Baza, who together with Salcedo intended to assassinate the Prince of Orange and the Duke of Anjou, 31 July 1582. Baza is captured and confesses Nicolas Salcedo's involvement in the conspiracy. He then commits suicide in his cell; his body is dragged through the streets of Bruges and mutilated on the scaffold. With a caption of 4 lines in Dutch and 4 lines in French. Unnumbered. Printed on the reverse with text in Latin.
