About this work
The Prince of Orange murdered in Delft by Balthasar Gerards, 10 July 1584. William of Orange sits at the bottom of the stairs, his wife kneels by his side, on the left the foot of the fleeing perpetrator is just visible. In the inscription the last words of the prince: My God! have pity on my soul! My God! have pity on this poor people! Printed on the verso with text in Dutch.
