About this work
Political allegory from ca. 1587 in which the Dutch Cow is milked by a Scot or Englishman (possibly the Earl of Leicester), held by the horns by a German (possibly Matthias of Austria or William of Orange), led away by a Frenchman (possibly the Duke of Anjou) on a (broken) rope, while Philip II can only hold the tail. With a subtitle of four four-line verses in German; the last verse praises the Duke of Parma.
