Capture of the fortification at Zutphen, 1591

Capture of the fort near Zutphen, 24 May 1591. Capture of the fort by means of a stratagem in which States soldiers were disguised as peasant women. In the foreground the fights with the Spanish troops, above the IJssel Maurice with his army on horseback and to the right the city of Zutphen. At the city, Johan Philip of Daun, Count of Valckesteyn, is shot down. Details in the representation numbered 1-19, but the legend is missing. With a two-line German inscription. On the back of the print, children's drawings in pencil.
