About this work
Map of the river mouth with the town of Kola near Murmansk, where the two boats arrived on 25 August 1597. The two boats sail up the river where the ship of Rijp lies at anchor. On land four Russians carrying a boat on their shoulders and two hunters. Copies of the original illustrations from the travel report of the voyage of Willem Barendsz and Jacob van Heemskerck in 1596-1597 and the stay on the island of Nova Zembla, No. 30.
