About this work
According to an old custom, the woman jumps onto the pyre on which the body of her deceased husband is being burned, 1597. On the right a group of musicians. Prints of the worked-up plates for the original illustrations in the travel report of the First Voyage of Cornelis de Houtman to the East Indies in 1595-1597. No. 42.
