About this work

The Battle of Lekkerbeetje. Cavalry battle on the Vughterheide near 's-Hertogenbosch between the Spanish cavalry under Anthony Schetz van Grobbendonck and the States' cavalry under Pierre de Breauté, 5 February 1600. In the foreground on the left lies the fallen Gerardt Abrahamsz. Lekkerbeetje. In the distance 's-Hertogenbosch and Vught. At the top the coat of arms of Grobbendonck. At the bottom the inscription 'High Courage is Always Good'. With an inscription of two columns in Dutch and two columns in French.
