About this work

Battle of Rheinfelden on 28 February and 3 March 1638 between the army of Bernhard, Duke of Saxe-Weimar and the Imperial army under Field Marshal Johann von Werth. In the foreground hand-to-hand fighting between horsemen. In the background bombardments between the two armies outside Rheinfelden. At the top a portrait of the victor Bernhard, Duke of Saxe-Weimar. The print is accompanied by a text sheet.
