About this work
Text sheet accompanying the print with the view of the palace of the Sultan of Morocco in Marrakesh, during the visit by the embassy on a trade mission on behalf of the States-General under the leadership of Antonius de Liedekercke, from November 1640 to April 1641. The palace (probably the El-Badi Palace) of the Sultan Mohammed esh Sheikh es Seghir (indicated on the print as Muley Hamet). Third text sheet in an unmounted ensemble consisting of five prints and four text sheets. Sheet with four blocks of text in Dutch and French marked I-M, intended to be cut out and pasted under the prints.
