About this work

A medal in honor of Prince William II. Obverse: portrait of William II. Reverse: his coat of arms. A medal about the failed attack on Amsterdam by Prince William II on 30 July 1650 and the funeral procession of the prince in The Hague, 8 March 1651. Obverse: running horse, with soldiers under a cover; in the background a view of the Blokhuizen on the Amstel. Reverse: the fall of Phaëthon, below the funeral procession at the Hof in The Hague. Four cut-out and pasted circles on a sheet of paper with annotation.
