About this work

A medal about the failed attack on Amsterdam by Prince William II on 30 July - 4 August 1650. Obverse: view of Amsterdam and ships on the Amstel, above it a hand from the clouds with the heart and coat of arms of the city with a pennant with an inscription. Reverse: the removal of six members of the States of Holland to Loevestein Castle and a skull with a dove with a palm branch in its beak. Cut-out illustrations without text on the back pasted on a sheet of paper with annotation.
