About this work
The Battle of the Sound, between the States fleet under Admiral Jacob baron van Wassenaer, lord of Obdam, and the Swedish fleet under Admiral Carl Gustaf Wrangel, 8 November 1658. In the foreground the naval battle with the fight on the left between the admiral ships of Wassenaer named De Eendracht and of Wrangel named Victoria. In the foreground the Bredero with shot-off masts of Vice-Admiral Witte de With. In the background on the left the Swedish coast and on the right the Danish coast with the castle Kronborg.
