About this work

Satirical print on James II and the arrival of William III, 1689. James distressed by the arrival of the Prince of Orange with his fleet and asking King Louis XIV for help. The latter points with his sword to the German Emperor. Also present are other German princes and heads of Turks on stakes. The Peers, members of the House of Lords, offer the king their support if he is willing to uphold the previous laws and refrain from abolishing the Penal Laws. On the right, sitting on the ground, Queen Mary of Modena with bare breasts, beside her Father Peters with the Prince of Wales. With inscription of four lines. On the sheet below the print a text in two columns and a pasted Explanation of the numbers 1-7 in Dutch.
