About this work

Plan of the Battle of Landen, also known as the Battle of Neerwinden, where the allies were defeated by the French army, 29 July 1693. Part of the second of two volumes of the print work: Le Theatre de la Guerre, dans les Pays-Bas, the title page of which was published in 1696. The print work consists in total (both volumes) of 52 plates with plans (by Sébastien Le Prestre, Seigneur de Vauban) of famous strong cities and fortresses in the Nine Years' War in the Netherlands. Identical to the plate appearing in: Les forces de l'Europe, published between 1693-1697. Title and inscriptions in French.
