The British cutpurse and pickpocket, 1713

Psyche holding a burning lamp over the naked sleeping Amor, also holding a knife in her hand. The inscription compares Queen Anne to Psyche in the depiction, and the title refers to the accusation that she concluded peace to thwart the heir. The depiction is used in connection with the Peace of Utrecht, 1713. Numbered bottom right: 6b. Verses in Dutch and French in the print. Part of a group of 28 new and old plates adapted to illustrate the Peace of Utrecht in 1713.
