Caricature in which Emperor Joseph I is handed the sword of vengeance by an angel. Opposite him, King Louis XIV of France blows into the ear of Pope Clement XI with a bellows. In the background, Rome. Inscriptions and verses in the plate in Dutch. Part of: The Palm Court of the Allies, a series of 9 unnumbered caricatures against the French in the year 1708 of the War of the Spanish Succession. Part of the print work published under the collective title 't Lust-Hof van Momus with the bundled series of caricatures during the years 1701-1713 of the War of the Spanish Succession.
