Shrove Tuesday Joy Wreath and Play. Central scene depicting Cupid teaching Pan (or Marsyas) to play the flute, with a naked nymph in the background. This scene is to be interpreted as John Law having removed his mask and being advised by a good spirit to abandon the wind trade; the nymph represents Mrs. Law. Surrounded by a separately printed frame with small figures, musical instruments, and foodstuffs referring to Shrove Tuesday, accompanied by various verses.
