Caricature on the political relations between the Republic and England, ca. 1780. The venerable Dutch merchant distributes money to hardworking laborers, farmers, and artists. Other investors on the left are rejected. In the foreground, the Dutch Lion and the French rooster drive away the English dog. See also the pendant.
